Overwhelming support from the community shown during their annual toy drive event!
Geneseo Communications employees were moved by the overwhelming generosity shown during their 11th annual community Toy Drive, Tuesday December 11th. Braving cold temperatures, employees took shifts collecting toys in front of Geneseo Communications, Inc from 7 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Employees were witness to the true meaning of the season through the expressions of giving from folks who drove up and dropped off toys and cash in support of this effort. In addition to several truckloads of toys the committee also presented the Geneseo Food Pantry with cash donations over $2,400. Their efforts, in support of the Geneseo Food Pantry, will not only put toys under the tree for area families in need, but also provide food, clothing and other assistance.
In addition to community contributions, local retailers also took part by extending additional discounts and donations toward the drive. Special thanks to Hartco Cable, Farm & Fleet, Wal-Mart, Dollar General and Walgreens for their support of these efforts.
“Each year this event reminds all of us at Geneseo Communications how very blessed we are to be a part of such a giving community,” said Brenda Crider, toy drive coordinator. “We are truly witness to the spirit-of-the-season through the amazing generosity of others.”
