Purchasing/Accounting Assistant


Geneseo Communications is looking for a full-time or part-time to full-time Purchasing/Accounting Assistant.

  • Assist in sourcing and procuring goods and services required by different departments.
  • Review purchase requisitions and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, including pricing, delivery dates, and vendor information.
  • Assist in managing inventory levels and conducting periodic inventory counts and reconciliations.
  • Researching products to determine the best price for quality and delivery.
  • Negotiating terms, conditions, and pricing with vendors
  • Performing data entry to create purchase orders and maintain records for accounting.
  • Convert purchase orders to accounts payable (A/P) entry by accurately recording invoices, ensuring proper coding, and obtaining necessary approvals.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Post cash receipts and reconcile bank deposits.
  • Assist in maintaining financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Provide administrative support to the purchasing and accounting departments, including filing, data entry, and document management.
  • Assist in preparing reports and presentations related to purchasing activities and financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and communication.
