Geneseo Communications, Inc. held its eleventh annual ice cream social in support of the Aisle of Flags on Tuesday, June 7th to the sounds of Geneseo’s Maple City Band. As part of its commitment to give back to the community, Geneseo Communications employees will donate $3,183 to the Aisle of Flags furthering their mission to honor veterans’ past and present.
“The Geneseo Aisle of Flags was started over 40 years ago as a community salute to the men and women of Geneseo who served our country,” said Stephanie Rickman, Aisle of Flags Committee President. “This year’s event took on special meaning as we remembered Bob and Judy DeBoever, long time members of the Aisle of Flags Committee. Bob and Judy were committed to honoring our veterans; much of the past success of the Aisle of Flags display was in part to their untiring dedication and patriotic spirit,” she said. “We are extremely thankful for the generous support of Geneseo Communications employees and the community, the funds raised will help allow us to continue this tribute to the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave!”
“Blessed with a beautiful night, we were thrilled with the turn out and are very pleased with the amount we were able to provide to the Aisle of Flags committee. We wish to thank everyone who donated desserts and all that helped serve, but most especially all those that attended and for their generous support!” Joline Sierens, Marketing Specialist and ice cream social organizer.
